The awesome Chit Chat kits this month reminded me of an adorable video game my family and I love--Katamari Damacy, a game where a little alien tries to roll up everyday objects on earth, collecting them to make stars. My son Jonas was running into everything with a yoga ball at a friend's home, and he told us he was doing it so he could play the game in real life! I had to make a page documenting the story. For this page I used the Chit Chat embellishment kit, journal cards, and black and white puffy stars.
My background for the page is actually an 8.5x11 piece of photo paper. I found images from the game online and used one in a strip on the top and another in the corner, then filled in the journaling, photos, and embellishments on the print-out. The name of the game was cut off in the top photo, so I used the letter stickers from the kit to write the first word. I couldn't get the spacing to feel right for the title, so I used the square flair in the corner to add balance (also because it's so dang cute).
Because the object of the game is to create stars, the star wood chips were fantastic for my theme. I staggered them and added embroidery floss.
I added my journaling on one of the journaling cards, which I bordered in foil washi tape. Last, I added a spattering of white puffy stars. The result is one of my favorite layouts to date! I can't wait to dig into my adorable story back log, because this kit is perfect for them. What cute stories do you have to tell?
