I love the weather themed elements to the Shine kit, and I used them on a fun page documenting a Winter Blast festival in my 6x8 minibook documenting a trip to Michigan.
The blues and gold of the kit were great for my icy page!
I wanted to use the kit to make a title page for this section of the album. The dipped look of the gold foil and white puffy alpha stickers in the kit gave me the idea to use striped background paper, so I could really show off the fun duel tone of the stickers.
Working on the diagonal, I framed the title in cardstock stickers and enamel dots, then stamped the other word for my title onto a chipboard label.
I didn't want the entire page to be diagonal, so I stapled clouds to the top of the page, trimming off the excess, and added a photo of an ice sculpture to the opposite corner. I backed the photo with an inked circle burst wood chip and a few more enamel dots.
Most of my pages in this album will be simple--mostly just photos and words, so having fun decorative pages in the album to act as separators between the different events on the trip makes the album more fun. And adding an embellishment here and there on the plainer pages, as I did on my journaling card, will help to unify the pages throughout the mini album!
