For this page, I was really inspired by the arrow washi tape from the April Kit and by the lines of the sunburst patterned paper that I chose to use as my background.
I placed long strips of the arrow washi tape in the white spaces of the sunburst pattern and then placed my photo towards the center of the it, covering the ripped ends of the washi.
I wanted to bring out some of the gorgeous blue hues of my photo so I punched out different sized circles from some coordinating patterned paper and scattered them around my page.
I layered the "This" chipboard arrow on top of a few other scraps of paper and placed the "dream" wood veneer sentiment underneath of it to complete my title. I simply used a black Sharpie marker to alter the wood veneer phrase.
I also added several of the black enamel octagons around my page near the circle clusters and stamped directly onto the wood veneer tag that's available in the April Kit using some black StazOn ink. This is one of my favorite pages I've created in a while and I just love how well the colors coordinate with the April Kit contents!
I love how versatile the embellishment kits are and how I always have WAY more than enough to complete multiple projects. This month I decided to create a fun 8.5x11 layout of a picture that I took of my two boys in the bath.
Do you ever snap a photo and then as soon as you see it - you want to scrap it RIGHT AWAY? That’s what happened with this photo and the kit goodies were perfect to use for it!
I placed the 4x6 photo off-centered a bit on a piece of blue patterned paper. Then I wanted to create some visual interest and so I use the arrow washi tape to draw the eye to the title of the layout and then also the name and date on my layout. I love using washi tape, but sometimes it’s so hard for me to come up with other ways to use it! It’s always fun to use it to create a border on your layout or even to visually draw the eye to a particular area.
I took my circle punch and cut out a half circle section on the photo and then placed the heart chipboard piece in that circle. I sort of rested it right in there. I added the acrylic “fun”, the epoxy dots and then created a little journaling strip and added that to the photo. A few mini staples and that was that! ;)
I love the chipboard pieces in the kit! I included the “here|now” chipboard piece to the layout and then added an arrow sticker to point at my boys in the photo. Of course I used another enamel dot! ;)
Lately I added the “THIS” chipboard arrow, wrote their names and then stamped the date. I added a black foam heart from a misc. sticker sheet as well. I love all of the pops of black with the colors in the kit. They all looked so great on the bright, white cardstock.
