For vacations, I like to make highlight spreads to put in my pocket scrapbooks. I usually document trips more in-depth with minibooks later, but I love having a view in my chronological albums too. Because these spreads are photo-heavy and I want them to come together quickly, the planner kit is a perfect companion. I can embellish simply with coordinated products and finish up quickly!
I used May's Bloom planner kit to add journaling to my spread and for a few fun touches. I started with the circle sticky notepads and added one of each to the cards I'd cut down from patterned paper so I could use them as journaling spots. Before trimming off the excess note from the first card, I used it to line up the notes on the other cards so they'd all have the same placement. This is a great way to turn your scrap patterned paper into journaling cards for pocket scrapbooking!
Next, I used the washi tape from the kit to ground the date on my title card. Because the tape is slightly translucent and I wanted it to stand out, I used two layers.
I added a paper clip to one card for a touch more pink.
I still felt that the page was missing something, so I added leatherette foil leaf stickers to make a patterned background for my final card. This is my favorite part of the whole spread!
There you have it! A simple vacation-highlight pocket page that came together quickly using the planner kit.
