I knew that the adorable autumn icons in the kit would be perfect for documenting Thanksgiving, so I tackled a spread about my four 2015 Thanksgiving family gatherings!
I cut up some of the journaling cards so I could use them to add journaling on filler cards and to add matching color to the title card.
For the title card, I cut a journaling card in half and glued the halves side-by-side to cross the title card. I used the silver foil alphabet to spell out Thanksgiving and added a rhinestone to each side of the title. Engraved wood leaves in the corner finished it off.
Using the embellishment kit and journaling cards across the spread helped unify busy photos and lots of photo collages.
The crinkle paper stickers were great to decorate the center of photo collages and to jumpstart journaling on this card.
The silver clips to use with epoxy sticker tabs are a fun touch to add to journaling cards! Layering other journaling cards, washi tape, and stickers is a great way to make filler cards more interesting.
This kit was so amazing to use on my Thanksgiving spread and would be a great addition to any autumn gathering you want to document!
20 Years of City Market Coffee
All of the coffee icons in the kit inspired me to make a page about a party at my favorite coffeeshop, City Market Cofeehouse, celebrating its 20th year.
I used photos of my own and some others took and added to the Facebook page for the event. The differently cropped photos helped me come up with the design of the page--I just rearranged them until they felt balanced.
I used three different types of embellishments with the coffee cup icon on this page--a cut down journaling card, a puffy sticker, and a flair piece. I'm sure no one can mistake the subject matter of this page!
I tucked other embellishments into the blank spaces left by the photos, using the foil letter stickers to celebrate the owners of the coffeeshop, foil washi to underline my journaling, and small embellishments like the rhinestones and epoxy sticker tabs to make visual triangles of color on the page.
I lucked out that the coffee icons in the Hello Autumn kit fit so well with an event, but these icons would also be great to celebrate your favorite place to get coffee, special seasonal flavors you are excited about, or a page about your favorite coffee drink!
